Drueke Chess pieces in their original box. No board. 32 vintage chess pieces, ivory vs. black, weight added, re-felted, c.1960.
Height: King 6cm, weight 10g, base width 2.8cm; Queen 5.5cm wt. 10g; Bishop 4.8cm 6g, Knight 4.5cm 9g, Rook 3.8cm 7g, Pawns 3.3 cm 3g.
W: Traditional green felt pads; B: same
An unadulterated finish. A rarity in the Chess Schach, but there was no reason to touch these pieces as everything was intact and carried a wonderfully aged patina. The 22’s originally came unweighted. Weight has been added, filling the entire hollow cavities, and the felt bases replaced. The pieces come with their original storage box.
Both kings carry the hand-painted 2023 IRIDESCENT PEARL ‘Power’ signature of the artist on their bases and are accompanied by our unique ‘Certificate of Artistry’ which are posted out separately, once we tally up how many pearl signature sets passed through our galleries in 2023.
